What I Like About & Don’t Like About It….

There’s not much not to like about the VIZIO xvt473sv, but I always try to give unbiased opinion based on my research, trying to save you the hassle!! 1st, let’s start off with:

THE PROS

The Price- If you’re anything like me price is a concern, but the old adage is true, “You get what you pay for…” The nearest competitor, the “SONY BRAVIA 1080p LCD HDTV goes for about $300 more than the VIZIO and in my opinion the VIZIO xvt473sv is a superior model for the price difference.

 

The Internet Functions- More and more, I find myself using my TV as my “home computer.” This may not be the case with some of your folks, but if you have kids, they’ll quickly get you on board with it.

It makes it’s easier to to view pictures, home movies, etc which is pretty cool when you have the option of viewing that way.

Qwerty Keyboard & Blue Tooth Remote Control- Easily & seamlessly maneuver between all of the internet functions on screen with the Qwerty Keyboard on the remote control. With the blue tooth capability there is no need to point the remote directly at the TV which is a cool feature. Other blue tooth features like head phone are coming so, so be on the lookout for that…

 

Built-In WiFi- This is a great feature, there is no need to connect directly to a modem, this model features WiFi, but you can connect directly via Ethernet cable as well.

 

The Speakers- I hear more good than bad regarding the out of the box speakers… Most of you probably have a surround sound setup, so that doesn’t affect you, but for people like myself I like the option and these are great “out of the box” speakers!

THE CONS

Customer Service- I have seen some complaints regarding their customer service if and when there was a problem. Customer service can be a problem with most bigger companies, so this doesn’t phase me that much. I do recommend checking into an extended warranty to cover anything beyond the 30 day normal return policy.

“Blooming”- A bit of “blooming” at times, but not enough to be concerned about with this particular model.

In Conclusion

The Vizio XVT473SV gets a overall thumbs up from us! The features are comparable to all the VIZIO’s competitors and per usual, for the price you can’t beat it. The interactive nature (FaceBook, NetFlix,etc) is a great component, especially for the person that can’t get away from their computer or “Smart Phone.” No major draw backs on this model, but as always I recommend an extended warranty if you can swing it.
